Good condition original antique Civil War US Navy Model 1861 Whitney Plymouth Rifle-Musket. Lock has nice manufacturer markings and is dated 1863. Barrel has 1863 date and “VP” and eagle head proof marks. Mechanically functions fine and tight. Metal has brown and gray patina with some scattered pitting. Bore has been reamed out to .73 caliber smooth bore and is in good condition. Bayonet lug on barrel has been removed. Original sights are present. Stock has been refinished and shows some normal handling marks. Complete with correct original ramrod. A decent example of an uncommon Civil War US Navy M1861 Plymouth Whitney musket.
