Very good condition original pre WWI Imperial German Saxon cavalry officer dress sword that is marked “El. Voigt in Dresden” on the blade spine. 30 ½” blade has nice original bright finish with fire blued and gold inlaid engravings. Left side of blade has the Saxon crest. Brass hilt has nice mellow patina. Sword features a lion head pommel. Leather covered grip has tight wire wrap and shows some wear. Fitted in correct original steel scabbard that has brass throat and hanger ring fittings. Scabbard is “in the white” with some gray and brown patina. Has some pitting on the drag. A nice Saxon officer sword for your collection.
