Very good condition original Civil War US Navy Model 1852 officer sword that is maker marked “W. CLAUBERG & CO. SOLINGEN” on the right ricasso and marked “IRON PROOF” on the spine. 29” blade has original bright finish with some scattered graying and nice etched panels on both sides. Brass hilt has nice even color. Sharkskin covered grip has tight wire wrap and shows some normal wear, no damage. Fitted in correct original leather scabbard that has brass throat and tip. Leather shows some wear, stitching is tight. A nice Civil War US Navy officer sword that will make a fine addition to a collection.
