BEAUTIFUL RIFLE-COMPLETE WITH CORRECT BAYONET
Very good condition antique Portuguese Model 1885 Guedes single shot rifle in 8 x 60r caliber that has nice Steyr manufacturer markings on the receiver. Mechanically functions fine and tight. Rifle is NOT import marked and has all matching serial numbers. Bands, triggerguard, lever, and buttplate are “in the white”. Remaining metal finish is nice original blue. There are a few scratches on the receiver. Bore is very good and bright with strong rifling and a little pitting at the muzzle. Stock has been refinished and has attractive color. Left side buttstock and left side of forend have faint matching serial numbers. Right side buttstock has a faint Steyr roundel cartouche. Complete with correct original cleaning rod and bayonet. Bayonet is in fair condition. Blade has a broken tip and edge has several nicks. No scabbard. Fit on rifle is somewhat stiff. A nice looking example of a hard to find Guedes rifle that will make an excellent addition to a collection.
