Good condition original pre WWI Imperial German Model 1873 Artillery Sword that is maker marked “E.U.F. HORSTER SOLINGEN” on the right ricasso and dated 1905 on the spine. Unit marked “4.A.F.II.l.M.51.” on the left side of the guard for the Light Munitions Column of Battalion 2 of the 4th (Magdeburg) Foot Artillery Regiment “Encke”. 30” blade has original bright finish with some gray and brown patina and some pitting. Has been sharpened and still has original leather washer at the base. Guard has gray and brown patina. Leather covered wood grip shows some wear. Fitted in correct original steel scabbard that has a matching unit marking and another cancelled unit marking. Scabbard mostly brown patina and several dents. The throat screws are missing and fit is stiff. A good example, hard to find with matching unit markings.
