Good condition original WWI Imperial German Prussian Model 1889 cavalry sword that is maker marked “F.W. HOLLER SOLINGEN” on the left ricasso and dated 1915 on the spine. Unit marked “2.J.H.P.” on the back of the guard for the 2nd Mounted Jaeger Regiment (Jaeger Zu Pferde). 32 ¼” blade has original bright finish with some gray and brown patina. Edge has a few nicks. Still has original leather washer at the base. Hilt has gray and brown patina. Nice Prussian eagle on the guard. Hard rubber grips have a few scuffs. Fitted in correct original steel scabbard that has been repainted black and has a few dents. A good example of a classic WWI German cavalry sword.
