INDIAN NO. I MK III SMLE ENFIELD .410 SHOTGUN-MATCHING-EXCELLENT

Excellent condition Indian No. I MK III SMLE Enfield Rifle that was originally manufactured in .303 British by Ishapore Arsenal in 1941, as marked on the right side of the receiver socket. Converted to a single shot .410 shotgun by Ishapore (RFI) in 1947, and so marked on the left side of the receiver socket. Rifle is NOT import marked and has all matching serial numbers. Right side buttstock has a brass plaque stating to use 3” shells, so it appears that the gun was altered to use modern ammo. Metal finish is excellent original blue. Smooth bore is bright and excellent. Stock has original finish and crisp edges with a few normal handling marks. Right side buttstock has Indian cartouches. Underside of forend has a matching serial number. Complete with correct original sling. A nice Indian .410 SMLE with matching numbers.
