Good condition antique US Navy Model 1879 Remington Lee bolt action rifle in .45-70 caliber. Receiver has Remington manufacturer markings. Barrel is marked “P/WMF/anchor”. Metal finish is original blue mostly worn to brown and gray patina. Bore is very good and bright with strong rifling and a little pitting. Stock has been refinished and has added grasping grooves. The forend is a new made, spliced-on replacement ahead of the rear band. Front sight blade is missing. Complete with a replaced cleaning rod. A hard to find US Navy Model 1879 Remington Lee rifle, with only 1,300 made.
