Good condition original WWI German 98/05 Mauser butcher bayonet that is maker marked “F. KOELLER & CO. OHLIGS SOLINGEN” on the left ricasso and dated 1917 on the spine. Bayonet was refinished in blue, indicating postwar Weimar reissue. The blue finish on the blade shows some normal wear. The blue finish on the hilt shows some wear, and there is some pitting on the guard and pommel. Wood grips show some normal handling marks. Lock button functions fine. Fitted in correct original steel scabbard that has brown and gray patina with a little original blue finish remaining and a few dings. A good example for your collection.
