Good condition antique Japanese Type 22 Murata Rifle in 8mm Murata caliber that has nice kanji character markings on the receiver. The mum on the barrel has been defaced. Mechanically functions fine and complete including working magazine cutoff. Rifle is NOT import marked and has all matching serial numbers except the bayonet lug. Metal has mostly brown patina with a little scattered pitting. Bore is poor, dark and pitted with worn rifling. Stock has original finish and shows some wear and handling marks. Forend has a few areas of damage, appears to be from worms. Left side of wrist has a small hairline by the triggerguard. Right side buttstock has a faint roundel cartouche. Handguard is absent. A good example of a hard to find Japanese Type 22 Murata Rifle.
